    What is the Kathmandu Marathon?

    Kathmandu Marathon is Nepal's largest city running event, organized by NRS Sports Foundation. The event offers race categories for runners of all ages and fitness levels.

    What are the reporting and start times?

    Marathon & Half Marathon

    How can I register?

    You can register online through our official registration platform.

    What is the registration fee?

  • 7.
    Is there any age limit?

    Participants must be at least 18 years old to take part in the Marathon (42.195 km).

  • 8.
    When and where can I collect my BIB and race kit?

    Collection Dates

    • 2nd & 3rd October 2026 (Friday & Saturday)
    • Venue will be updated soon
  • 9.
    What documents do I need for BIB collection?

    Please bring:

    • Race confirmation letter, or
    • Registration confirmation number
  • 10.
    What should I wear and carry on race day?

    Wear comfortable running clothes and running shoes. Carry only essential items such as your BIB, hydration, and any personal medication you may require.

    Will there be water and medical stations on the route?

    Yes. Water and sponge stations will be available every 2.5 km along the route. For detailed station locations, please refer to the route map.

    Medical stations will be available every 10 km throughout the route to provide assistance when needed. For more information, please refer to the route map and Google Maps directions provided by the organizers.

    Is parking available?

    School and college buses are allowed to park in the Dasarath Rangashala area and we request participants to park at the Dharahara area.

  • 13.
    What are the race cut-off times?
    • Marathon (42.195 km): 5 Hours
    • Half Marathon (21.1 km): 3 Hours 30 Minutes
    • 10K: 1 hr 30 Minutes
  • 14.
    How can I check my race results and download my finisher certificate?

    Race results and finisher certificates will be available online after the event.

  • 15.
    Is baggage storage available?

    Yes. A baggage deposit facility will be available at the venue.

  • 16.
    Can I change my race category after registration?

    Principally No! Registration transfers are not permitted. However in special cases, changes may be permitted until Bib Distribution Day with an administrative fee of NPR 500.

  • 17.
    Is the registration fee refundable?

    Registration fees are non-refundable.

  • 19.
    Can I transfer my registration to another person?

    Principally NO! Registration transfers are not permitted. However, in special cases, a registration may be transferred to another person until Bib Distribution Day, subject to an administrative charge of NPR 500.

  • 20.
    Can someone else collect my BIB and T-shirt on my behalf?

    Yes. Your representative must bring:

    • A copy of your citizenship/passport, and
    • Your registration confirmation
  • 21.
    Can I collect my BIB after the official collection dates if I am outside Kathmandu Valley?

    If you are unable to collect your BIB personally, you may authorize someone to collect it on your behalf. After the given date BIB is not distributed. 

    International participants may provide their hotel details, and we will arrange race kit delivery accordingly.

  • 22.
    Are restroom facilities available at the event venue?

    Yes. Dasarath Stadium Toilet facilities will be available at the event venue. In addition, public toilets will be available along the race route at Koteshwor and Maharajgunj area.
